Cancellation and Refunds
1. Scope and definitions
1.1 This page explains how to cancel a Billboard Rental and when money is refunded. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service (section 6 and section 5), where capitalized terms such as "Rental", "Billboard", "Ad", "Paid Term" and "Contact Form" are defined. If this page and the Terms conflict, the Terms control.
1.2 "Including" means "including without limitation". A "paid period" is the week or month for which you have paid. Prices are in US dollars. Refunds are made through Stripe, our payment processor.
2. Automatic renewal
A BILLBOARD RENTAL IS A SUBSCRIPTION THAT RENEWS AUTOMATICALLY EVERY WEEK OR EVERY MONTH, AS YOU CHOSE, AT THE THEN-CURRENT PRICE PLUS ANY TAX, UNTIL YOU CANCEL. Prices (before tax) are $15 per week or $49 per month for Nova Harbor rooftops; $12 per week or $39 per month for Reges Parkway roadside boards; and $9 per week or $29 per month for Pine Ridge and Solara Bay rooftops. Sales tax is calculated and added by Stripe Tax where it applies. We give at least 14 days' notice of a price increase before it applies to a renewal, so that you can cancel first. Stripe sends a receipt after each payment.
3. How to cancel
3.1 Online, at any time. You can cancel on regestown.com/market (sign in, choose your Billboard, and select cancel) or in the Stripe billing portal that the market page links to. Cancellation is as easy as signing up and does not require contacting us. You will not be asked to call anyone, to wait or to give a reason.
3.2 When it takes effect. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. You keep the Billboard, and your Ad stays displayed, until then, and no further payment is taken. Before that date you can resume the Rental from the same page. Canceling does not by itself delete your Account, and deleting your Account does not cancel a Rental, so cancel first.
3.3 No part-period refund. If you cancel part-way through a paid period, we do not refund the rest of that period, except in the cases in section 4. Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge; the renewal date is shown on the market page and on your Stripe receipt.
3.4 If cancellation fails. If you cannot cancel online for any reason, tell us through the Contact Form (subject: "Cancel rental", with your Account email and the Board ID). A request we receive before a renewal is processed and that shows a good-faith attempt to cancel on time will be honored as of the date you tried.
4. When refunds are available
We refund money only in the following cases:
- (a) No approved Ad within 7 days. If none of your Ads has been approved for display within 7 days after your first payment, you may request a full refund of that first payment through the Contact Form within 14 days after your first payment, as long as no Ad has been approved by the time you ask. The Rental then ends.
- (b) Our reasons. If Reges Town ends a Rental, or removes a Billboard, for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused part of the paid time, pro rata. If a Billboard must be moved, we may instead move your Rental to a comparable Billboard, and you may choose the refund if the replacement is not acceptable to you.
- (c) Breach: no refund. No refund is due when an Ad or Rental is removed or ended because you broke the Terms or the Advertising Policy.
- (d) The law. We honor any refund that the law requires, including refunds for charges that were not authorized.
Outside these cases, payments are final. A rejected Ad is not by itself a reason for a refund after the 7-day period in (a): you may upload a replacement, as the Advertising Policy explains. We do not guarantee any number of viewers, traffic or results, and a lack of them is not a reason for a refund.
Example. You rent a Parkway board monthly for $39 plus tax and your first Ad is rejected on day 2. You upload a replacement that is approved on day 5. No refund is due under (a), because an Ad was approved within 7 days. If no Ad had been approved by day 7, you could ask for the refund of the $39 plus the tax paid any time up to day 14.
5. How to ask for a refund
5.1 Send a request through the Contact Form with the subject "Refund request", the email address of your Account, the Board ID and the reason. For the case in section 4(a), send it within the 7-day period.
5.2 We will answer within a reasonable time, normally within 5 business days. An approved refund goes back to the original payment method through Stripe, including tax charged on the amount refunded. Stripe and your bank decide how long it takes to appear, typically 5 to 10 business days.
5.3 A full refund of your payment ends the Rental at once, and the Billboard returns to the "This space is available" house ad.
6. Failed payments, chargebacks and disputes
6.1 Failed renewals. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it. While payment is retried, the Billboard keeps showing your Ad for up to 3 days after the end of the paid period. If payment has not succeeded by then, the Rental ends, and the Billboard returns to the house ad and can be rented by others. Update your card in the Stripe billing portal to avoid this.
6.2 Chargebacks. A chargeback or other payment dispute, or a full refund, ends the Rental immediately. Please contact us through the Contact Form first if something is wrong with a charge; we would rather fix it. Nothing here limits your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer.
7. Tips and sponsorships
As section 5 of the Terms states, tips and sponsorships are voluntary support and are final and non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund or for a duplicate or unauthorized charge that you report through the Contact Form within 30 days. They are not Billboard Rentals and have no renewal.
8. Your legal rights
This page does not take away any refund, cancellation or other right that the law gives you and that cannot be waived, including under the Federal Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act, California's Automatic Renewal Law (Business and Professions Code § 17600 et seq.) and New York General Obligations Law §§ 5-901 to 5-903, to the extent they apply.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this page. A change never applies to a period you have already paid, and changes to prices or renewal terms follow section 6.7 of the Terms. Contact: LIKE A KING INC., a New York corporation, USA. Use the contact form at likeakinginc.com.
