Privacy Policy
Reges Town is built to need very little about you: there are no accounts, no advertising and no tracking analytics. This policy explains what we do handle.
What we collect and why

Stored on your device
We use your browser's local storage (not advertising cookies) only for small conveniences: your chosen display name (reges-name), which person you walk as (reges-avatar), whether city sounds are on (reges-sound), and when we last showed the sponsor note or whether you have sponsored, so we don't ask again (reges-sponsor-nudge, reges-sponsored). You can clear them at any time in your browser settings. Stripe may set its own cookies on its checkout pages.
AI providers
Character dialogue is generated by large language models reached through OpenRouter, Inc., which routes requests to model providers. The text of your message, the character's context and the conversation so far are sent to them to produce a reply. Do not send personal or sensitive information to characters. These providers process data under their own terms; some may use it as their policies allow. We do not send your IP address or payment details to them.
How long we keep it
- Display names, positions and live chat are kept in memory while the Town runs and in short operational logs for up to [30] days.
- Tip and sponsorship records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires (typically [7] years).
- Stream recordings stay on the platforms where they are published until removed.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only with the service providers above (hosting, Stripe, OpenRouter and AI model providers, streaming platforms), when required by law, or to protect the Service and its users.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR/UK GDPR or US state laws such as California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. Because we have no accounts, tell us the display name, approximate time and any tip details so we can find your data. Contact [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL]. Legal bases (EEA/UK): running the Town you asked to use (contract), keeping it safe and working (legitimate interests), and payment and tax records (legal obligation).
Children
The Service is not for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security and international transfers
We use reasonable safeguards, such as keeping all API keys and payment secrets on our servers only. No system is perfectly secure. Our servers and providers may be in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than yours.
